Adam & Maggie
We are bursting with excitement, energy and love as we continue on this path to parenthood. We are so humbled that you would consider us as adoptive parents, and cannot wait to share adventures, big and small, and build a lifetime of incredible memories.
Our Life Priorities
We have found that it's important to prioritize different things at different times of life. While our earlier years were focused on college, grad school and career, we are at a point where we've prioritized peace, happiness and FUN!
Life can get extremely crazy, and because we've been through so much, we make sure to take time to slow down and just be grateful for all that we have and focus on each other, friends and family. We prioritize being there for each other, and for those who need us.
We also prioritize trying new things, and making space for fun. That's why we set aside time for travel, taking the dog on a hike, trying new restaurants, seeing movies, or playing games. It's so important to create shared memories and be spontaneous!
Our Pup, Ollie
Our dog, Ollie, is a very important part of our life. We found Ollie at a pet rescue organization, and brought her home the day after Christmas in 2017.
Ollie keeps us very active, and is the best, fluffiest reminder of what's important in life - making sure we spend time together, get outside, and eat great food. She's the reason we know so many people in our neighborhood - folks like to stop and pet her and ask what type of dog she is (and honestly, we have no idea what type of dog she is - she's a mystery!).
Ollie is wonderful with kids, and has been a part of our nieces' lives since they were 4. She absolutely loves running around with them, playing fetch, and even brings the ball back (most of the time)!
Our Childhood Memories
Camping, exploring, and having fun outdoors are some of our best memories from childhood.
Adam grew up in a neighborhood with his three closest friends right down the street - there were many days of riding bikes, skateboarding, and jumping on trampolines. He also went on annual trips to the Boundary Waters with this close-knit group and their families, where he would canoe for days, swim in icy waters, cook over the campfire and hangout under incredible starry skies. These are friendships and memories that last a lifetime.
Maggie also grew up spending lots of time outside. She was fortunate enough to live very close to cousins and her grandparents. Most days in the summer she would bike over to her cousin Jackie's house to play, or to her grandparent's house where she would help Grandpa work in the garden. Some of her best memories are from annual camping trips to Star Lake, where she would spend all day swimming and building sandcastles, fishing with her dad, and making s'mores.
We look forward to sharing our love of the outdoors with a child and we cannot wait to make new memories together as a family!

Our House and Neighborhood
We are so lucky to be a part of our neighborhood and community. We are friends with many of our neighbors (and their dogs!) and talk and text regularly. We have received so much love and support from our neighbors, and are happy to lend a helping hand whenever needed as well.
Our house is next to a walking path that leads to a beautiful park, with a playground and swing set, baseball diamond and lots of trails through a wooded forest (there's even a creek!). The location is perfect, as so many neighbors walk by every day. We get to say hello and catch up, share great things that are happening and lend an ear when needed.
Our neighborhood is full of families, with lots of great kids! During spring, summer and fall there is a constant parade of kids riding bikes and scooters, or catching toads in the park. In winter, the sleds come out - Maggie joins in with her snow tube as well!
We are particularly close with a few families next door, across and up the street. Maggie walks the neighbors' dog Piper each day (along with our dog, Ollie), and has treats ready whenever Piper comes to visit at the back door (which is multiple times per day). Adam is always happy to help move furniture, weigh in on a question about lawns, or help shovel a sidewalk.
Our Extended Families
We have a big, fun, extended family ready to welcome a child with love (and a lot of laughter). Thanksgiving - the holiday that we host each year - typically brings over 40 aunties, uncles, and cousins in to our home... and that's only some of our extended family.
Maggie loves to plan parties, dinners, cookouts - any reason to get together and have some fun. And Adam is always there to make sure the burgers are cooked perfectly and everyone is having a good time. We regularly have backyard campfires, outdoor movies, snowshoeing parties at our 80-acre property, and more. Any reason to bring our parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, second cousins, aunties, uncles and friends that feel like family together.
Adam's family currently lives in Colorado, but have a passion for travel. We are fortunate enough to visit them and go hiking, as well as meet in new places to explore (most recently, Quebec City in Canada). Adam also looks forward to hosting his dad every year for a week of deer hunting, video games and just being together.
Maggie's mom Kathy lives so close that we regularly walk to her house for visits. Maggie and Kathy regularly run errands together, bounce decorating ideas off of each other, and try out new lunch spots. We're also fortunate to live close to many aunties, uncles and cousins - there's always someone to visit!
From Us to You
Hi there! We're so excited to meet you. Excited, eager, and a little nervous (maybe you feel the same). We're incredibly grateful you would consider us as adoptive parents, and wanted to share a bit more about who we are and what we're all about.
First and foremost, in case you haven't heard this from us yet - we are in awe of your strength and love, and the dedication you must have to this child. This process is not easy, and there are so many unknowns.
But, through all the ambiguity and fuzziness there are things that we know to be true:
In short, we want to give this child everything they need, and the freedom to try things, find their passion, have healthy relationships, work hard, play hard, and, above all else, build a life that they love.
We want to try to describe the infinite pictures we have in our minds of what this will look like. For Adam, it's the most peaceful walk through the woods, hand in hand with our child, pointing out deer and birds and finding cool sticks and rocks. It's teaching our child how to snowboard and seeing them in a snowsuit and helmet, getting ready to strap in to their board for the very first time. It's working together in the garage, building or fixing, taking things apart and putting them back together.
For Maggie, it's holding this child's hand as we prepare to land from their very first plane ride. It's reading books at bedtime, watching this child's eyes slowly close as they drift off to sleep. It's pulling a chair next to the counter so this child can help add ingredients and stir. And it's teaching this child to plant a row of seeds, and take care of the sprouts, and watch as the garden explodes with green each summer.
We're here and excited to meet you, and talk about all the dreams you and we both have for this child. Thank you again for considering us.
